Comedian Eddie Griffin crashed a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo March 27 2007, while practicing for a charity race to promote his new movie, "Redline". Griffin, 38, was not injured when he ran into a concrete barrier at California's Irwindale Speedway, but the car was described as totalled. Rumors afterwards suggested the crash was a stunt to promote the film./p>
Eddie Cochrane ("Summertime Blues") was an early US rocker, a contemporary of Elvis, who died in a bizarre taxi crash while on tour in Britain on April 17, 1960. Cochrane was riding to London with fellow rocker Gene Vincent and his girlfriend Sharon when the taxi they were in skidded off the road into a lampost. He died of head injuries 16 hours later.
